SRI LANKA, 25th March 2019 – Digital transformation experts Tech One Sanje and Microsoft Sri Lanka recently conducted a technical session to address Windows and SQL Server 2008/R2 End of Support .
The session was participated in by over 40 IT practitioners from the banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.
The technical session focused on the essentials of Azure Data platform and basic Machine Learning (ML) cycle. This also covered data ingestion, exploration and feature engineering, performance analysis, deployment, and Azure Auto ML. The session aimed to keep the local market informed of the risks of dated workload and database servers. It was also meant to guide them towards viable options for securing organizational data and complying to international regulations.
This was followed by an evening session exclusive for CXOs which highlighted big data, data democracy, and analytics.
Hemanta Benerjee, Founder of Just Analytics and resource speaker during this event, emphasized the relevance of beating EOS. He said, “Since the end of support for SQL and Windows server 2008 is fast approaching, data of those who are uninformed about its implications are in dire risk—risks that are too important to ignore in the modern world where cyberattacks are common.”
He also added that, “In the current changing IT environment, there’s always a need for a growth in data, stacks of unstructured data and growing analytics. This equates to transitioning to up-to-date servers and keeping up with the evolving IT knowledge to handle modern data.”
